Midway Crossing

Once-in-a-generation, transit-oriented development

The $2.8 billion mixed-use project will be the largest commercial or residential development on Long Island in the last 50 years.  Spanning approximately 2.7 million square feet across 179 acres, plans call for a variety of uses, including life sciences, healthcare, and hospitality, as well as a convention center and traditional retail, restaurant, and entertainment space. The development is organized around a system of public open spaces  that feature urban plazas, streetscape, landscape buffer zones, enhanced pedestrian connections and recreational trails. The project is anticipated to collectively generate more than $4.5 billion in annual economic impact upon completion.

Midway Crossing will also serve as a multi-modal transit hub, connecting the Long Island MacArthur Airport, as well as the Ronkonkoma Station of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) via a network of open space and enclosed connections.

The master plan includes:

  • 400,000 SF of Commercial Office
  • 600,000 SF of Life Science / Research Facilities
  • 217,000 SF of Health Care / Human Performance Facilities
  • 300,000 SF Convention Center
  • 300 Room Convention Center Hotel
  • 110 Room Boutique Hotel
  • 200,000 SF of Retail
  • Parking Facilities for 8,500 cars

This transformational project would benefit residents across all 10 of our towns, and bring an increase in tourism, business, and educational opportunities and advances to our region. We believe Midway Crossing’s leveraging of existing and regional assets will serve as an economic boon to all of Long Island and the State of New York.
